Lots of potential at this place...but definitely fell far short of expectations. Would not return.
- What did you like most?(1) The kitchenette was a nice feature. Wish we had some grocery options nearby so we could have made use of it. (2) It is an easy hotel to find, right off the main road and not much traffic.
- Was there anything you didn't like?(1) The mattresses were very poor quality. All four of us slept quite uncomfortably, and we are not too picky on mattress firmness/softness. these mattresses felt like 2" thick blankets. It was not much better than "sleeping on the floor of a tent in the woods" level. (2) There were no open restaurants for us to make use of when we arrived. No groceries. No food. No restaurants. (3) The pool was closed for renovations - would be nice to know this before we booked it/traveled there. They did offer for us to use a sister hotels pool - but it was miles away. Not useful at all.
Our stay was nice. Being by the ocean made it even better!
- What did you like most?The staff were very professional, patient and understanding with helping us with our reservation. For some reason their system never received our booking reservation. Anyways, we made the best of our stay! The 2-bedroom villa was clean, a bit outdated, but the beds to include the sofa bed were uncomfortable. The villa comes with a full kitchen with dishes. All the windows and back doors opened towards the beachside. We loved the view! We loved that the property is on the same side as the ocean. As soon as we step off the property, we have the sand under our feet and the tide rolling in like music to our ears. It's soothing, relaxing and healing being by the beach.
- Was there anything you didn't like?We had a bit of complications while we stayed at the hotel. First, it was with our reservation and the following day we were locked out of our room...lol. We weren't notified when booking or before our stay that the pool was out of service, which was very disappointing, because that was where the kids wanted to spend their time while we were there. Oh, the location of the hotel is a bit of a drive to and from shopping centers, restaurants and other things to do in Galveston.
