- What did you like most? The cleanliness and security were outstanding. I especially appreciated the safety measures the elevators are monitored by hotel security. You tap your room key, and the security team directs you to a specific elevator to take you to your floor. Although guests stay on different floors, they don’t allow more than two groups (couples, families, etc.) in an elevator at a time. I love how this maintains privacy, and with five elevators available, you never feel crowded or rushed getting to your room. The bellmen are awesome as well very helpful and always ready to assist with arranging rides to the airport or getting around New York. Great service all around!
- Was there anything you didn't like? While I understand that a 4 p.m. check-in time is standard around the world, I feel that given how busy and expensive this hotel is the check-in process could be improved. Just a thought for management. I also want to mention my interaction with Zay at the front desk. He may be better suited for a position that doesn’t require direct guest interaction because he lacked the professionalism expected at a front desk. When he called “next,” I walked up, greeted him politely with “Good afternoon,” and he responded with, “What do you need?” I was taken aback and said, “I beg your pardon?” Only then did he adjust his tone and explain he was trying to ask whether I needed bag check or check-in. Sir, then that’s what you should have said. I’m not your friend, I’m a guest at the company you work for. Professional development training is definitely needed. I travel often and leave honest reviews everywhere I go. I know it’s December, the festive season, and everyone wants to visit NYC. I’ve been doing this for years, so I understand the crowds. However, I have never seen so many visibly ill people checking into a hotel: sneezing, coughing, stuffing tissues in their noses. It was concerning. If I were in management, I would have immediately instructed all staff to wear masks, and I would have asked sick guests to do the same. It felt unfair and inconsiderate to other travelers. The onsite restaurant has some very nice staff Paula, in particular, was wonderful. I ordered a plain Caesar salad with no meat and no croutons. The gentleman assisting me was pleasant and helpful. But when I returned to my room, I noticed a fishy smell it was anchovies and crouton pieces in the salad. Since I don’t eat any of that, I went right back down, and they apologized and said they would make me another one. However, when I got back to my room again, I realized they had simply picked the anchovies and croutons out and returned the same salad to me. Bizarre, right? And honestly, unsafe.
